Li Zhaoxing, president President of the translators Translators Association of China (TAC) and former Foreign Minister of China, was engaged as honorary professor of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS) on April 21, 2010. President Li also delivered a speech to some 600 students at the University.
GDUFS is one of the prestigious universities in China which specializes in international studies. The School of Interpreting and Translation Studies (SITS) under GDUFS, established in May 2005, is one of the earliest schools for educating competent interpreters and translators to conduct high-level interpreting and translation work in such areas as international relations, diplomacy, foreign economics and trade, culture and technology.
