On November 14th, the First Seminar on MTI Education and the Translation Industry was held in Beijing. Huang Youyi, Vice President of TAC, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony, and Xu Jun, Executive Vice President of TAC and Executive Vice President of the Graduate School of Nanjing University, gave the keynote speech. Up to 300 participants, representing universities, enterprises and the media, were at the seminar.
The first of its kind addressing the combination of MTI (Master of Translation and Interpretation) education and the translation industry, this high-profile seminar offered a keynote speech session and two tracks, namely MTI Education and Translation Practices, the Needs of the Translation Industry and the Application of Translation Technologies. Topics range from the program of MTI and standardization of teaching materials, MTI and the translation discipline, to internship of MTI candidates and their career orientation, as well as MTI teaching and IT application.
This seminar offers timely and practical guidance on the development of the translation industry in China that will take advantage of the combined strength of enterprises, university education and research. |
