China International Publishing Group was founded on the same year as the People’s Republic of China, and celebrated its 60^th anniversary in 2009. Ms Marion Boers, President of International Federation of Translators sent a letter recently via TAC, to congratulate CIPG on its 60^th anniversary, and expressed “our appreciation to the CIPG for its long-term support to the translation profession in the form of sponsoring the Translators Association of China and for its generous assistance with translation activities such as the XVIII FIT World Congress in 2008. “

China International Publishing Group is the biggest specialized publisher and distributor of foreign languages publications in China that is with the longest history. It publishes nearly 3000 book titles each year and more than 20 periodicals and online magazines in some 20 languages, including Chinese, English, French, German, Spanish, Japanese, Russian, and Arabic. CIPG gives strong support to TAC for a long time and contributes greatly to the development of translation industry in China. China Aptitude Test for Translators and Interpreters (CATTI), initiated and executed by CIPG and TAC, has become a widely acknowledged professional test throughout China, and during the past six years there have been more than 90 thousand people enrolled in the test.
