Esteemed President oftheTranslators Association of China, invited dignitaries, colleagues,and friends,
尊敬的中国翻译协会会长，各位嘉宾、同事们、朋友们，
I am again honoured to have the privilege to address the TAC Annual Conference and to send FIT’s very best wishes for a successful and enjoyableevent.
很荣幸再次在中国翻译协会年会上致辞，我代表国际翻译家联盟，祝愿本届年会圆满成功。
Now the theme of this year’s conference is one that FIT relates to.
本届年会的主题与国际译联所关注的内容息息相关。
Our missiontogether as a community is to promote cultural exchange and mutual learning well into the future so we are invested in botha strong cultural presence and a strong future with ongoing cultural ties and ongoing technological development.
持续推进文明交流互鉴是翻译界的共同使命。我们既致力于塑造更强大的文化影响力，也着眼更美好的未来，不断深化文化纽带，推动技术发展。
Cultural ties can exist outside so many other constraints and challenges, because they are built on human relationships, and this makes them enduring.
文化纽带之所以能够突破诸多制约因素和挑战的影响，正因其建立在人与人交往的基础之上。这种深植人心的根基，也是其生生不息的原因。
So as we seein the global arenatoday overcome with geopolitical tensions and complex challenges, the role of translatorsand interpreters as cultural mediators, assisting and supporting the dealmakers to be in a discussion, cannot be overestimated.
当前，国际形势变乱交织，地缘政治局势紧张。翻译工作者身兼文化桥梁之职，肩负穿针引线之任，重要性不言而喻。
Maintaining and developing culture is about understanding, and mutual respect, butit’s also about ensuring that the human side of the human-technology equation is as rich and strong as thousands of years of human civilisation deserve to be.
文化的赓续和发展需要相互理解、彼此尊重，但同样需要平衡人文与技术发展的关系，始终保持人类文明经过数千年的积淀应有的厚度和韧性。
Art, literature, social customs and traditions, these are as important for the future as the algorithms, deep learning and large language modelswill be, because both are the future.
艺术、文学、社会习俗和传统对社会发展的重要性，与算法、深度学习和大语言模型不分伯仲，都是未来社会不可或缺的组成部分。
With an increase in instability, global communications and relationshave become characterised by a lack of trust.
随着世界局势不确定性增加，全球交流和国家关系正经历深刻的信任危机。
So in this UN year of peace and trust,FIT’s International Translation Daytheme for 2025 highlights the important role of human trust.
2025年是联合国国际和平与信任年，值此背景下，今年国际译联确立的国际翻译日主题也强调了建立互信的重要性。
Specifically, the role of translators, interpreters and terminologists in ensuring trustworthy communication, building dialogue and trust betweenthe parties, and providing oversight to AI-generated text and machine translation ensuring that it’s trustworthy.
尤其是笔译、口译和术语工作者发挥的重要作用，包括加强真诚交流、建立各方对话和互信、审核人工智能生成文本和机器翻译以确保翻译质量。
Now digital technology offers opportunities and challenges, which we already know, for the translation community and our biggest challenge is how we navigate those challenges and exploit the benefits as we implement new translation industry models and translation technologies - in the knowledge that the technology still requires translators.
如今，数字技术为翻译界带来的机遇和挑战不言而喻。最大的挑战在于，我们如何驾驭难题，并在采用新的翻译行业模式和翻译技术时将其转化为优势。毕竟，不论技术如何发展，译者的作用依旧不可完全替代。
The conferences such as the annual TAC conference, give us a forum to discuss the ways forward, to assimilatethechange that’s happening all around us and to assess the impact of technology on the profession.
中国翻译协会年会等会议为我们提供了一个平台，讨论未来发展道路，把握行业最新变化，也借此机会评估技术发展对行业的影响。
Because as translators, interpreters and terminologists, we must embrace the complex future with integrity, professionalism, ethical standards and excellence in our work.
作为笔译、口译和术语工作者，我们必须在工作中秉持正直品格和专业态度，坚守职业道德和卓越水准，直面未来复杂多元的挑战。
And we do that best by working together at an international and regional level.
要做到这一点，最好的方式是在国际和地区层面携手努力。
And now that we havein FIT, an active FIT Asian Regional Centre,theFIT’s strength and presence inAsia and Asia’s presence within FIT are both ever stronger than before, and
得益于国际译联亚洲中心的成立和成员们的积极交流，国际译联在亚洲的实力和影响，以及亚洲在国际译联的影响，比以往任何时候都更加强大。
the Asia-Pacific Translation and Interpreting Forum(APTIF11) next month is a lasting testament to that strong cooperation.
